Privacy policy

Effective October 9, 2026

This policy explains how Crusoe Says LLC ("we," "us") handles information in HomeThoughts, an iPhone app that helps people capture notes, photos, and voice memos while touring homes and turn them into organized reports, and on our website, homethoughts.app. We built HomeThoughts to be private by default: we do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites. The website works a little differently, and "This website" below covers it. By using the app you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Questions? Email [email protected].

The short version

Summary of HomeThoughts privacy practices
Selling your data Never. Your data is not for sale, full stop.
Ads and tracking in the app None. No analytics, advertising, or tracking software, and nothing Apple labels "Data Used to Track You."
Who sees your captures You, and a partner you link with if you choose. No one else, unless you share a link yourself.
Voice memos Transcribed on your iPhone using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The audio is never sent to us or to Apple to be transcribed.
AI report writing Off until you turn it on. When it is on, the text of your notes and home details is sent to a third-party AI service to write the report. Your name and email are not, and the text is not used to train AI. See "AI report writing" below.
Deleting everything All your data, or your whole account, from inside the app, anytime.
Where your data is stored On your iPhone, and on our backend hosted in the United States.
This website Cookieless visit counts on every page. The Meta Pixel on our agent and lender pages only, never on the pages for homebuyers. See "This website" below.

Who we are

HomeThoughts is operated by Crusoe Says LLC, a North Carolina company. For any privacy question, contact us at [email protected].

What we collect

We only collect what the app needs to work. We do not ask for information we do not use.

Account information. When you sign in with Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see Apple's private relay address, not your real one. There is no password-based login in this version, and we never see your Apple ID credentials.

The things you capture. The notes, photos, and voice memos you record, your first-impression ratings, and any text you type. Voice memos are turned into text transcripts on your iPhone using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The audio is not transmitted anywhere to be transcribed.

Home and neighborhood details. Addresses, nicknames, prices, beds, baths, square footage, taxes, HOA fees, and the precise location (latitude and longitude) of the places you save, which the app uses to fill in addresses and organize your tours.

Your buyer profile. The names you enter, the priorities you pick (including any you write yourself), your budget, and how you rank the homes you have seen.

Commute places. The labels, addresses, and locations for the places you commute to.

Purchase records. When you unlock Full Access, we store a record of the App Store transaction so we can confirm your access, and your linked partner's. The payment itself is handled by Apple. We do not receive or store your card or payment details.

Partner linking. If you link with a partner, the two of you share one workspace, and the information above is visible to both of you.

In the app, we do not collect analytics, device advertising identifiers, third-party crash telemetry, or any information used to track you.

How we use what we collect

  • To store and sync your captures across your devices, and with a partner you link.
  • To generate your home and neighborhood summaries and your comparison.
  • To fill in addresses and organize your tours by location.
  • To confirm your Full Access, including for your linked partner.
  • To create and render the share links you choose to make.
  • To respond to your support requests.

We do not use your captures to train AI models, and we do not use your content for advertising. We have no advertising.

When information leaves your device

Our backend. Your captures and account data are stored in our hosted database and file storage, provided by Supabase in the United States, so they sync across your devices and with a linked partner. Access is protected by row-level security, so only you (and a linked partner) can reach your data.

AI report writing, which is opt-in. AI report writing is off until you turn it on. When you turn it on, the app sends the text of your notes and transcripts, plus home details such as the address, price, and your saved priorities and budget, to our AI provider, OpenRouter, which routes the request to a large language model operated by OpenAI (or Google as a fallback) to write the report. We do not send your name or email address in these requests. We have turned off model training and prompt logging for these requests, so the providers use the text only to generate your report. They do not log it, keep it, or use it to train their models.

Apple Private Cloud Compute. On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, if the request to OpenRouter cannot be completed, the same report text may instead be sent to Apple's Private Cloud Compute, where an Apple model writes the report. Apple designs Private Cloud Compute so your data is used only to fulfill that request and is not stored or made accessible to Apple. The same AI report writing setting controls this, so nothing is sent to Apple for reports while it is off.

If you leave AI report writing off, your reports are generated on your device and with rule-based methods, and nothing is sent to OpenRouter, its providers, or Apple for your reports. You can turn AI report writing off at any time in Settings, under Privacy.

Market trends. When market-trend information is shown, the app sends the home's ZIP code and state to our servers, which match them against public Census geography tables to find the home's metro area and then look up public housing-price-index data for that metro area (or for the state, when the home is outside a metro area). This matching happens on our servers. The ZIP code, state, and street address are not shared with any outside data provider for this feature.

Share links. If you create a share link for a report, we publish a snapshot of that report, which can include the home's address or nickname, prices, your verbatim quotes, and photos, to a web page that anyone with the link can reach, until you turn the link off. Nothing is shared automatically. Share links exist only when you create them, and you can revoke them at any time from the report's Share screen.

Sign in with Apple is provided by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.

This website

Our website, homethoughts.app, is separate from the app. Nothing you capture in the app is visible to the website's analytics or advertising tools.

Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which receives the technical details every website receives, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

Visit counts. Every page uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint your device. It records the page you viewed, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, your country, and how fast the page loaded. Cloudflare uses your IP address only to work out your country and does not keep it for this purpose. We see totals, not individual visitors.

The Meta Pixel, on our agent and lender pages only. Our pages for real estate agents and lenders (/agents and /lenders) use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, to measure and improve our ads to agents and lenders. It records that you viewed the page and, if you click a button to buy a seat pack, which pack you chose and its price. It sets a Meta cookie (_fbp) in your browser, and it sends Meta your IP address and browser details. If you are signed in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta may connect the visit to your Meta account, under Meta's own privacy policy. Meta gives us aggregate reports, not who you are. No other page on the site loads the Meta Pixel, including every page written for homebuyers, the gift code claim page, and shared report pages. You can block it with your browser's cookie or content blocking settings, and you can manage how Meta uses this activity in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

App Store links. Download links on the site carry a label for where on the site they appear (for example, the pricing page). Apple uses the label to tell us, as totals, which parts of the site lead to downloads. It does not tell us who you are.

Buying a seat pack. Agents and lenders buy seat packs on a checkout page run by Stripe. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy, and we never receive your full card number. We receive your name, email address, brokerage or company if you enter one, the billing country and ZIP code for your card, and what you bought. We use them to deliver your gift codes, show you as the sponsor on the codes you give, and answer questions about your order. If you choose to save your details with Link, Stripe's faster-checkout service, that is between you and Stripe under Link's own terms. If you order by email or invoice instead, we use the same details for the same purposes.

Claiming a gift code. When you claim a code at /claim, you sign in with Apple on that page, the same Sign in with Apple the app uses, and we attach the code to your account so Full Access unlocks. The page keeps your sign-in only for that browser tab and sets no cookies of its own. The agent or lender who gave you the code is recorded as its sponsor so the app can thank them. They never see your captures, your reports, or anything else you record in the app.

Tour lists. An agent can make a tour list at /tour: the addresses of the homes they plan to tour with a buyer, an asking price for each if they add one, and their name if they choose to give it. No account is involved. We store the list so its link works, and anyone who has the link can see it, so a list should never include a buyer's name. To keep the form from being misused, we keep a one-way scrambled record of the network address a list was made from for two days. A list's link stops working after 60 days, and we delete its contents after that.

If you open a tour list, its page shows you the homes. When you tap the App Store badge there, the page copies its own link to your clipboard so the app can find your list after you install it. The app reads your clipboard only when you tap Paste. If you add the homes in the app, we record that your account added homes from that list, and which homes, so we can tell whether tour lists are worth offering. The agent is not told who opened a list or what was added, and never sees your captures, your reports, or anything else you record. That record is deleted along with your data or your account.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You are in control:

  • Delete all data. In Settings, under Privacy, this permanently removes your homes, neighborhoods, captures, photos, voice memos, and reports, while keeping your account so you can start fresh.
  • Delete account. In Settings, under Account, this permanently removes all of the above and your account itself, including your stored files.

These actions are immediate and cannot be undone. If you have shared a report by link, revoke the link to stop it being viewable. Text sent to the AI provider to write a past report is processed only to generate that report. Because we turn off model training and prompt logging for these requests, the provider does not keep it or use it to train models.

How we protect your information

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. On your iPhone, photos, voice memos, and exported files are stored with file-level encryption, and your login session is held in the device Keychain. Access to your stored data is enforced by row-level security, so no other user can read it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.

Children

HomeThoughts is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. The in-app "Delete all data" and "Delete account" controls cover access and deletion directly. For any other request, email [email protected] and we will respond as required by applicable law. We do not sell personal information. The app does not process it for cross-context behavioral advertising. On the website, the Meta Pixel on our agent and lender pages is used to measure and improve our ads; you can block it as described under "This website," and you can email us with any request about it.

International users

We operate the app from the United States, and your information is processed there. By using the app you understand that your information may be processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use HomeThoughts after an update means you accept the revised policy.
